Five-seat plug-in hybrid
JAECOO 7: five seats and a smaller footprint
If five seats cover your normal week, JAECOO 7 gives you a 500-litre boot without needing to fold away a third row. Its shorter and narrower body is worth considering for a tight driveway, local parking or a smaller garage.
Luxury SHS-P combines a 14.8-inch central display with features including a panoramic sunroof, heated steering wheel and Sony audio. Try the parking camera, seating position and phone connection during your visit instead of choosing only from the specification list.
Up to 56 miles of WLTP electric range can support a useful share of regular local driving if you charge. JAECOO quotes DC charging from 30% to 80% in around 20 minutes on a suitable 40kW charger.
There is also a self-charging JAECOO 7 SHS-H for buyers whose charging arrangements favour that route. Our JAECOO 7 powertrain guide explains the wider choice.

Seven-seat Luxury or six-seat Executive
JAECOO 8: a third row and longer electric range
JAECOO 8 Luxury is the seven-seat version, described by the manufacturer as a 5+2 layout. Fold its third row and the boot grows from 200 to 738 litres, giving the larger car a different balance of passenger and luggage space.
The 34.46kWh battery provides up to 83 miles of WLTP electric range. DC charging is rated up to 70kW, with a manufacturer estimate of around 20 minutes from 30% to 80%. At home, JAECOO lists 6.6kW AC charging and approximately 5.5 hours from empty to full under suitable conditions.
All-wheel drive and adaptive suspension are standard. The quoted 428PS output is another difference, although the most useful comparison for family buyers is often the seating access, ride and storage on a familiar test route.
Executive, from £47,500 OTR, has six seats. Its individual second-row seats add reclining and massage functions. It is a separate layout to consider for passenger comfort, rather than a seven-seat Luxury with more equipment.

Look beyond the seat count
Bring the things that normally travel with you. Check the buggy or dog crate, child-seat installation, third-row access and the space left for bags once your passengers are seated. Ask the team to confirm which demonstrators can be compared on the same visit.
The same headline warranty
Both models carry a seven-year or 100,000-mile vehicle warranty and eight-year or 100,000-mile high-voltage battery warranty, whichever limit arrives first. The applicable terms include maintenance requirements, exclusions and component conditions. Read JAECOO’s UK warranty information.
For either plug-in hybrid, make charging part of the buying discussion. Your electricity tariff and charging routine determine the cost of those electric miles; the published WLTP range is a comparison figure, not a guaranteed daily result.
