MG accelerates the next era of intelligent mobility with advanced ADAS technologies

MG’s vision for ADAS is to make advanced, reliable driver assistance an everyday reality for more customers. Rather than developing systems for idealised test environments, MG refines its intelligent driving technologies using real-world European data. With more than 1.2 million kilometres of driving data collected across 24 European countries, MG continuously updates its algorithms to reflect the roads and conditions customers experience every day.

A key part of this approach is MG One Touch iAD parking assistance, first introduced on MG’s premium IM models. Designed for real-world driving, the system supports more than 30 complex parking scenarios and over 300 parking space types, including unmarked bays. Its features include one-touch parking, kerbside parking assistance, automatic pull-out from tight spaces and reverse assist, which can retrace the vehicle’s path for up to 100 metres with obstacle detection.

Developed around the everyday challenges faced by UK and European drivers, the system is designed to make parking easier, safer and more intuitive. It combines fast space recognition, 360-degree camera guidance, on-screen trajectory display and automatic braking when pedestrians or cyclists are detected. MG is already developing the next generation of parking technology, including remote parking assistance, head-in parking and smartphone-controlled parking features to further enhance convenience.

The next major step in MG's ADAS strategy is Navigate On Autopilot (NOA), which is being developed to support motorway driving. With driver supervision, the system will assist with entering and exiting motorways, lane selection, lane changes and overtaking, helping to reduce driver workload on longer journeys while ensuring the driver remains in control at all times. MG is prioritising Highway NOA because motorway environments are more structured and predictable, providing the ideal foundation for the next generation of intelligent driving assistance.
