MG IM6: space for your everyday life
The IM6 offers room for passengers and several places to carry their belongings. Start with the journey that asks the most of your car, then test that arrangement in person.
At a glance
- Rear-seat comfort and bag fit deserve the same attention.
- The UK brochure quotes 665 litres for 100 Long Range and 100 Performance.
- It lists 646 litres for 100 Launch Edition, plus a separate 32-litre front compartment.
Start with your busiest journey
Make a short list of what travels with you: passengers, a pushchair or sports kit, shopping and charging equipment. It is easier to assess the IM6 when each has a place in your plan.
Try your most demanding regular journey’s passenger and luggage arrangement before deciding. A car that works well with your everyday load is a useful foundation for the rest of the specification.
Choose the right boot figure
MG’s current UK brochure quotes a 665-litre boot for 100 Long Range and 100 Performance, with a footnote giving 646 litres for 100 Launch Edition. Check the named version when comparing an individual car.
A capacity figure helps you shortlist, but does not establish whether your particular pushchair or luggage will fit. Try those items with the rear seats arranged for the passengers who normally travel.
Give charging kit a convenient home
MG lists a separate 32-litre front compartment and additional storage beneath the rear boot floor. These spaces let you think about frequently used items separately from larger bags.
Ask to see each compartment and check the supplied charging equipment. Try where you would keep the cable so it remains accessible when the main boot is packed, following the handbook’s storage and loading instructions.
Let passengers choose their position
The UK brochure identifies adjustable rear-seat backrests. Set the front seats for their occupants, then let the people who travel in the back try the space and seating position.
Check headroom, foot space and access with the seat set comfortably. If children use the rear row, check approved child-seat compatibility for the exact car during the same visit.
Think about the whole cabin
Take a few everyday items into the car: a water bottle, your phone and the bags passengers usually keep close. Check that there is a sensible place for them without obstructing controls or access.
Look at the cabin from the back as well as the front. A comfortable passenger arrangement is part of the buying decision, even when the performance figures first caught your attention.
Make the appointment specific
Tell Invicta MG which IM6 version you are comparing and what you need it to carry. Ask for a written specification and a viewing that includes passenger fit and loading.
For a pre-owned or demonstrator car, use its individual equipment list rather than assuming it matches every feature shown in a brochure.
