Duster: mild hybrid or Hybrid 155?
A manual mild hybrid or an automatic full hybrid? The current Duster gives you both, with a clear £1,500 price difference at each trim.
Your quick guide
- Mild hybrid 140: six-speed manual, from £21,845 OTR and up to 1,500kg braked towing.
- Hybrid 155: automatic, from £23,345 OTR and official combined economy up to 61.4mpg.
- No charging cable: neither version needs plugging in. Hybrid 150 4x4 is a separate automatic option.
Two hybrids, two different priorities
Dacia’s October 2026 UK price guide offers mild hybrid 140 and Hybrid 155 across Expression, Journey and Extreme. The mild hybrid suits buyers who prefer a manual gearbox and a lower starting price; Hybrid 155 adds automatic shifting and stronger official town-driving efficiency.

Manual mild hybrid
Mild hybrid 140: manual control and towing flexibility
The 48V system assists the petrol engine during starting and acceleration. You still drive a six-speed manual, with no charging connection to plan.
The lower purchase price is one attraction. Another is the 1,500kg maximum braked towing figure, making this the version to investigate if you have a caravan or heavier trailer. Check the trailer’s actual laden weight and the vehicle’s own limits with the team.
Dacia’s current brochure quotes 9.9 seconds from 0–62mph. Its official 52.3mpg combined economy and 123g/km CO₂ apply to the versions in the October price guide, giving you a consistent basis for comparing trims.

Automatic full hybrid
Hybrid 155: automatic convenience for busy days
Hybrid 155 combines a four-cylinder petrol engine, an electric motor and a 1.4kWh battery with a clutchless multimode automatic gearbox. It can set off electrically and recover energy while slowing down.
Dacia says up to 80% of city driving time can be electric in its in-house urban test. That is a test result, rather than an expectation for every route: traffic, weather and your driving affect how the system operates.
For drivers spending time in stop-start traffic, the automatic gearbox and the stronger official economy are the reasons to compare it with the manual. The £1,500 premium remains the same whether you choose Expression, Journey or Extreme.
If you tow, note the 750kg braked limit before choosing the automatic full hybrid. It is a different specification from the Hybrid 150 4x4.

A third option
Need four-wheel drive? Look at Hybrid 150 4x4
Duster Hybrid 150 4x4 is offered in Extreme from £26,845 OTR in the current UK price guide. It uses a rear electric motor and an automatic dual-clutch transmission, and Dacia’s brochure lists a 1,500kg braked towing limit.
Its WLTP combined economy is 50mpg, with 130g/km CO₂. Consider it if four-wheel-drive capability is part of your regular needs, then compare the exact vehicle and equipment during your visit.
Duster’s standard manufacturer warranty is three years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. Eligible cars can gain additional service-activated cover through Dacia Zen, subject to its age, mileage, maintenance and activation conditions. Dacia explains Zen here.
Make your test drive useful
- Try the gearbox first. Ask to compare the manual and automatic where demonstrators are available.
- Describe your usual routes. Separate regular town miles from motorway journeys.
- Take your towing details. Match the actual trailer and load to the right version.
- Bring your everyday luggage. Check the boot of the exact powertrain and trim you are considering.
