Your JAECOO 5 choice, at a glance

  • Pure starts at £24,555 OTR; Luxury at £28,050 OTR on JAECOO’s current UK website, before optional extras.
  • Both include a 13.2-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 540-degree panoramic camera.
  • Luxury adds heated and ventilated electric front seats, a panoramic glass roof, LED headlights and a powered tailgate.

A choice about daily comfort

What you get before upgrading

A clear view when parking and familiar phone apps can make a big difference to daily driving. The JAECOO 5 Pure already includes both: a panoramic camera system and wireless smartphone integration are listed in the current Invicta specification.

That makes Pure a useful starting point if you want the JAECOO 5’s upright SUV design and core technology. Luxury adds a set of comforts to consider around the way you use your car, especially the front seats, roof and tailgate.

Here we compare the petrol Pure and Luxury. Both have a 1.6-litre turbo engine, seven-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive, as confirmed in JAECOO’s UK model information.

Make the choice personal

Which upgrades will you use most?

Consider the seats first. Luxury’s electric adjustment, heating and ventilation are features you can assess directly. Try the driving position, reach to the controls and front passenger seat, rather than choosing from the equipment list alone.

Look up, then look around. Luxury’s panoramic roof changes how the cabin feels, while Pure still offers the same essential touchscreen and camera functions. Spend a few minutes in each trim if both are available.

Bring your phone. Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto are included on both. Luxury also adds a cooled wireless charging pad, described in JAECOO’s UK specification announcement. Check that your handset and case work with the charging tray before deciding how useful it will be for you.

From shortlist to showroom

Compare the actual cars and offers

A good comparison starts with the cars you could order. Tell the team your preferred colour and any essential equipment, then look at the latest JAECOO offers for those versions.

Both trims come with JAECOO’s seven-year/100,000-mile warranty, whichever comes first, subject to the warranty terms. Pure and Luxury give you two equipment levels within the same model, so the decision can stay focused on what you want to use and enjoy.

For the test drive, choose a route that resembles your normal journeys. Leave time afterwards to try the camera, boot and phone connection while parked. Those details can make your choice much clearer.
