OMODA 7: petrol or plug-in hybrid?
One SUV, two ways to power it. Compare the lower-priced petrol Knight with the rechargeable SHS-P, then choose the version that suits your week.
Your quick guide
- Knight starting prices: petrol £29,965 OTR; SHS-P plug-in hybrid £32,005 OTR.
- SHS-P electric range: up to 56 miles WLTP, with petrol available for longer journeys.
- Boot space: petrol 639 litres; SHS-P 590 litres. Both have a 1,250kg maximum braked towing figure.
A £2,040 difference at Knight grade

Prices and specifications from OMODA’s current UK model page, checked 8 October 2026. OTR prices exclude optional extras and retailer offers. Electric range and petrol economy use different measures and should not be treated as equivalent running-cost figures. Actual results depend on driving and conditions.
No plug required
Petrol Knight: the simpler charging decision
The petrol OMODA 7 is an option for drivers who want the SUV’s design and equipment without arranging charging. Its seven-speed automatic and 1.6-litre turbo engine form a familiar petrol powertrain, while the 639-litre boot is the larger of the two quoted spaces.
Knight already includes a 15.6-inch central screen, a 540-degree parking-camera system and adaptive cruise control. Its 19-inch alloys and synthetic-leather seat trim mean the entry grade has a substantial specification to explore.
The lower starting price is another positive. If you do not have convenient home or workplace charging, compare your actual journeys and total ownership quotation before choosing the plug-in hybrid simply because its electric range looks appealing.

SHS-P: use electricity for more everyday miles
SHS-P combines the flexibility of petrol with a battery that can be recharged from an external supply. Its 56-mile WLTP electric figure helps you compare it with your daily mileage, but leave room for differences caused by weather, speed and load.
The 204PS combined output and quoted 8.4-second 0–62mph time are clear differences from petrol. The boot remains a useful 590 litres, so check your everyday luggage rather than assuming the battery makes the car unsuitable for family use.
Charging convenience matters. If you can recharge where you normally park, you can make more use of electric driving. The cost of doing so depends on your electricity tariff, petrol use and charging location; there is no single saving that applies to every household.
OMODA also publishes a combined range of up to 745 miles. This is a manufacturer claim for petrol and electricity together, not 745 miles of electric driving or a guarantee for your own journeys.

Practical differences, with shared warranty cover
